Insurance Disclaimer
Insurance & Coverage Acknowledgment
At Psychobabble Therapy, we believe getting started with therapy should feel as straightforward as possible. We’re happy to work with clients who have insurance benefits through UnitedHealthcare/Optum, BlueCross BlueShield, and Aetna.
Because every insurance plan is a little different, we want to make sure you have a clear understanding of how insurance works at Psychobabble before beginning care.
Your Therapist & Your Insurance
Not every Psychobabble therapist participates with every insurance network.
When you’re using insurance, we’ll help connect you with a therapist who is an appropriate match based on factors such as:
Your specific insurance plan and the therapist’s network participation
Your clinical needs and the therapist’s areas of specialty
Availability and scheduling
Therapeutic fit
Our goal is to find a therapist who is both a good clinical fit and an appropriate insurance match whenever possible.
Please note that being a client at Psychobabble Therapy does not, by itself, mean that every therapist is in-network with your insurance plan.
A Little About Insurance
Your insurance company determines what your individual plan covers, what it pays, and what portion of the cost is your responsibility.
Even when your therapist is in-network with your insurance company, your specific plan may have a deductible, copay, coinsurance, visit limitations, authorization requirements, or other coverage restrictions.
We encourage you to contact your insurance company using the member services number on the back of your insurance card to confirm your benefits, including:
Outpatient mental health coverage
Your therapist’s in-network status under your specific plan
Copay, coinsurance, and deductible amounts
Whether your deductible has been met
Any visit or benefit limitations
Referral or prior authorization requirements
Telehealth coverage
Any other plan-specific requirements
Insurance Verification
Verify your benefits with your insurance company to ensure coverage. Psychobabble Therapy will also verify your benefits and submit claims to your insurance company as a courtesy.
Please know that verification of benefits is not a guarantee of coverage or payment.
Your insurance company ultimately determines whether a service is covered and how much it will pay. Insurance benefits can also change during the course of treatment.
If a claim is denied or your insurance determines that a portion of your care is your responsibility, you may be responsible for the resulting balance, including applicable deductibles, copays, coinsurance, non-covered services, or denied claims.
Keeping Your Information Current
Please let us know as soon as possible if your insurance coverage changes, terminates, or if you receive a new insurance card.
If your insurance coverage changes or your therapist’s network participation no longer aligns with your plan, we’ll work with you to discuss available options. Depending on the circumstances, this may include transitioning to another Psychobabble therapist, continuing as a private-pay client, or exploring other appropriate arrangements.

I am responsible for understanding my insurance benefits and contacting my insurance company with questions about my coverage.
I am responsible for providing accurate and current insurance information to Psychobabble Therapy.
